Honkai: Star Rail Screwllum Leaks Show There's Still Hope For The Character's Release (2025)

New Screllum leaks for Honkai: Star Rail have emerged after a long time since the character’s last update, and while the previous rumors had indicated he would not arrive anytime soon, it still seems like there’s hope for the character. Screwllum is a Genius Society member in HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG and a colleague of The Herta. He was introduced as an NPC in Version 1.1, shortly after the game’s release in 2023. Since then, there’s been speculation about his possible release, but the most recent leaks said that Screwllum’s release in Honkai: Star Rail was canceled.

Prior to that, however, there had been leaks indicating that Screwllum was an Imaginary character following the Path of the Erudition, meaning his gameplay kit’s main focus would be to target multiple enemies at once, much like his Genius Society colleague, The Herta. Officially, in the game, Screwllum has appeared a multitude of times, and, most recently, he’s presented himself in charge of the Divergent Universe activity. Even though he’s been absent from leaks for a long time, new Screwllum leaks in Honkai: Star Rail have emerged, showing that his release may not have been canceled at all.

Rumors Indicate The Character Is Still Getting Updated

While no precise details have been shared, there is new information about Screwllum as a playable character. According to the leaker known as Sakura Haven, there are not enough details to provide substantial information on Screwllum, but the character is still receiving updates. The leak was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” on Reddit. If this is true, then the previous leaks about the cancelation of Screwllum’s playable form in Honkai: Star Rail may have been false.

The current leak makes it impossible to decipher when the character will be released. Based on the previous leaks, Screwllum’s release has been pushed back multiple times, either because the rumors were wrong or because he was postponed to give space to other playable characters. If Screwllum is still getting updates, this means that HoYoverse is actively working on his gameplay kit and, as such, he should be released in the future, as unforeseeable as it may be at the moment. This sparks hope for Screwllum’s release in the upcoming year, among the Amphoreus characters in Honkai: Star Rail.

The leaked update on Screwllum’s development status within HoYoverse doesn’t provide many answers other than the possible relief for players who were still considering his entire release had been canceled. With the large roster of Amphoreus characters, the game is set to have a full calendar of new character releases for the upcoming patches. In fact, the leaked characters for Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 through 3.2 show that two new 5-stars from Amphoreus are arriving in every update, leaving no space for Screwllum anytime soon.

As such, players may have to wait for the bulk of the Amphoreus content to be released before they start dreaming about Screwllum’s release again. However, the leak does alleviate some concerns for Screwllum’s fans, even if the rumor should be taken with an increased degree of caution, considering that the leak may be incorrect, incomplete, or subject to change. With The Herta coming to the spotlight in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, hopefully, her colleague Screwllum will also get some attention in the near future, even if just a teaser of his playable version.
